<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Doha Metro</h2>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">The <strong>Doha Metro</strong>, a pivotal transportation system in the heart of Qatar, stands as an exemplary embodiment of modern infrastructure, bridging key parts of the city. Here&#8217;s your guide to understanding its routes, timings, and fare system.</p>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>Doha Metro Lines</strong></h3>

<ol class="wp-block-list">
<li><strong>The Red Line</strong>: This line stretching approximately 40 kilometers, from Al Wakra in the south up to Lusail in the north. It notably binds the city centre with Hamad International Airport. Notable stations on this line include Lusail, Qatar University, Katara, West Bay, and Hamad International Airport Terminal 1, to name a few. The Legtaifiya station paves a path to the Lusail Tram, an additional transit system introduced in 2022.</li>

<li><strong>The Green Line</strong>: This line is from Al Riffa to Al Mansoura, featuring 11 stations. It includes significant stops like Education City, Qatar National Library, and Hamad Hospital.</li>

<li><strong>The Gold Line</strong>: Serving 11 stations, this line allows passengers to commute between Ras Bu Aboud (east) and Al Aziziyah (west). It incorporates major stops like the National Museum, Souq Waqif, and Al Sadd.</li>
</ol>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">And there&#8217;s more on the horizon! An upcoming Blue Line is anticipated to enhance this network by 2025.</p>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>Doha Metro Map</strong></h3>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Here is the most recent map of the <strong>Doha Metro stations</strong> across various lines.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img decoding="async" width="1024" height="768" src="https://qexpat.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/09/Doha-Metro-Map-1024x768.png" alt="Doha Metro Map 2023" class="wp-image-82" srcset="https://qexpat.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/09/Doha-Metro-Map-1024x768.png 1024w, https://qexpat.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/09/Doha-Metro-Map-300x225.png 300w, https://qexpat.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/09/Doha-Metro-Map-768x576.png 768w, https://qexpat.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/09/Doha-Metro-Map-1536x1152.png 1536w, https://qexpat.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/09/Doha-Metro-Map.png 1920w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>Doha Metro Timings</strong></h3>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">No matter the day, the Doha Metro keeps the city connected. From Sunday to Wednesday, the trains operate from 5.30 am to 11.59 pm. Saturdays see a slightly later start at 6.00 am. Thursdays enjoy extended hours till 1 am, and on Fridays, it functions between 2 pm and 1 am. Passengers can expect a train every six minutes, with the time between stations averaging three minutes.</p>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>Fare and Ticketing</strong></h3>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Doha Metro offers two fare categories: Standard and Gold Club.</p>

<ul class="wp-block-list">
<li><strong>Standard Class</strong>: A journey costs QR2, but there&#8217;s a daily ceiling of QR6, irrespective of the number of rides.</li>

<li><strong>Gold Club</strong>: This premium service is QR10 per ride, capped daily at QR30.</li>
</ul>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="1024" height="576" src="https://qexpat.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/09/Doha-Metro-Ticket-Price-1024x576.png" alt="Doha Metro Fares, Ticket Prices" class="wp-image-83" srcset="https://qexpat.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/09/Doha-Metro-Ticket-Price-1024x576.png 1024w, https://qexpat.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/09/Doha-Metro-Ticket-Price-300x169.png 300w, https://qexpat.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/09/Doha-Metro-Ticket-Price-768x432.png 768w, https://qexpat.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/09/Doha-Metro-Ticket-Price-1536x864.png 1536w, https://qexpat.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/09/Doha-Metro-Ticket-Price.png 1920w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Both adult and child fares are consistent. While children above nine can travel solo, younger ones should be accompanied by someone aged 16 or above.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph"><strong>Purchasing a Metro Card</strong>: Grab a standard card from vending machines at stations or from retailers like Al Meera, Carrefour, and Lulu Hypermarket. You can even have it delivered via Talabat Mart. Priced at QR10, these cards offer great value. For a Gold Club card (QR100), you&#8217;d have to visit the designated offices in metro stations.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph"><strong>Topping Up</strong>: Stations and online portals (<a href="https://www.qr.com.qa/top-up" target="_blank" rel="noopener">qr.com.qa/top-up</a>) facilitate easy recharges.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph"><strong>Carriage Options</strong>: Choose from three carriage types &#8211; standard, family (exclusive for families and solo females), and gold (Gold Club cardholders only).</p>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>Reaching the Metro</strong></h3>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Several free transportation services ensure that accessing metro stations is a breeze:</p>

<ul class="wp-block-list">
<li><strong>Metrolink</strong>: This bus service operates around areas such as The Pearl-Qatar and Doha Festival City, catering to passengers located 2-5 kilometers away from metro stations. Check the full route on Qatar Rail&#8217;s website.</li>

<li><strong>Metroexpress</strong>: If you&#8217;re outside the Metrolink&#8217;s domain, this ride-sharing service can be booked via the Karwa taxi app.</li>
</ul>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Additionally, Karwa app enthusiasts can capitalize on a 20% discount for rides to metro stations using the promo code RAIL.</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>Conclusion</strong></h2>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">In conclusion, the Doha Metro is not just a transportation system; it&#8217;s a testament to Qatar&#8217;s vision for the future. Whether you&#8217;re a local or a visitor, this guide aims to make your metro journey smoother and more informed. Safe travels!</p>
